The BBC has learnt that the scammers repeatedly pretend to be from the local Job Centre. They provide to receive money on behalf of claimants in return for a rate.
Their victims repeatedly only realise they’ve been duped when their contemporary benefits quit, they’re left in debt and have to repay the money to the Authorities.
